Garnished with an abundance of lumo hair, Mackrilizas are built tough to combat the hardfighting Mackerel, one of New Zealand's prolific and hugely popular bait species.
50lb test mono and strong 1/0 chemically sharpened recurve hooks are a must for Mackerel and the many other by-catch species these deadly rigs attract. Kingfish have been regularly taken on these otherwise bait rigs so a tougher build is mandatory!
Tarakihi and Snapper are often targeted and successfully caught on these.
Fitted with our own Senshi recurve hooks, they set themselves in the lip of the fish and are very rarely swallowed.
Simply back the hook out for safe return of unwanted or smaller size fish.
