The best method for Mullet I have found is to suspend a #10 or smaller Sabiki rig under a small float, add a split shot to the bottom to hold it down and fish through sprinkled breadcrumbs when the tide is high and water flow at a minimum.
The float aids the strike by adding bouyant resistance as the Mullet can't dive.
Great taking wee kids along as they quickly lose interest if they can't see the action.
This method enables vision and feel and inevitable higher catch rates to keep the young (and older) minds interested and excited.
