Caught a big fat Rig in monkey bay tonight (which is the start of the rocks at the end of the Clifford Bay surf beach.

The fat Rig should be around for the rest of Autumn. Good time of year to target the big ones, I believe they are pregnant females so probably a good ideal to release the big ones, quite a few small ones are still about which provide quite a lot of meat.

Snapper still seem to be about in reasonable numbers in the Kenepuru.

no rig hear in welly, but they sound like our spiny dogfish. they come in too shag in may and the big grils spit em out reel fast. crab is the best bait but sutimes you cant get past the spotty sharks

Weathers been fairly bad for fishing, visibility been crap for spearfishing. Might get out for a serious fish later in the week but its hard heading out after work when it gets dark so early..

Been doing a bit of Kayak fishing and spearfishing. In general visibility is poor and the fishing hard. Although had decent visibility today. Suspect I would have to install my FF and employ more burlies to get the fish interested.
