MARLIN ON 6/0 PIPER FLY
Black Marlin, 65kg, on 15kg line. by Sean Munro of PE Tackle in Brisbane.
This fly is our own design, 6/0 Piper or as Aussie's call them, Garfish.
Sean was out about 20kms from the Sunshine Coast, stooging about with liveys and dead baits and along came this bloke and stuck with the little fly for 45 minutes.
Initially intending to catch and release, the Marlin died so was brought home.
Sean is a distributor of custom made flies in Brisbane, all made by HOT SHOTZ
Check out their site at www.petackle.com that's Precision Engineered Tackle.

FIJIAN GT!
50 something year old, Paul Fairbairn (ex ChCh) caught
this awesome 24kg Giant Trevally near his home in Fijian waters recently.
Paul is a keen angler who "cut his teeth" on much smaller prey
near his former home in Christchurch.
Like all of us, Paul loves his fishing and this is far better than the Carpet Sharks off Mana Paul.....
.

YOU WEE BEAUTY!
Benjamin Trim 7 years old, with a nice snapper on Pink Terariza.
One of many for the day off the
Snapper Safaris mussel barge operating
in the Coromandel.

AUSSIE SNAPPER
Lyns,
Here are the photos all fish are caught on your Senshi hooks.
Check out the 37kg cobia taken on your hooks caught on a live
yakka on the Gold Coast on those
3/0 or 4/0 snelled Senshi circles.

This is actual message from Sean Munro, seen here with his Cobia.

In NZ a "yakka" is known as a Koheru or Jack Mackerel.

DEAN'S TROUT
Here's another fine example of the versatility of the 5/0 Crazy Cray.
Check out this awesome 5kg Coral Trout!
Dean went out with seasoned angler mate, Sean Munro,
and fished the Fitzroy Reef system, Queensland, and came up trumps!

SEANS NEXT TROUT
Another great Coral Trout caught on our special tie,
Slimy Mackerel Flies, off central Queensland
caught on a 5/0 senshi recurve hook.
Nice Hat Sean!

TREV on HUSSAR FLY

Hussar Fly, off Burrum Heads, Australia.
Justin caught a heap of these Trevs on a "Hussar"! Get yours through www.petackle.com

v

5 CAN COD!
When we say big we mean BIG!
This awesome Blue Cod a delectable eating fish, was caught on our top seller
"COD STOPPA" in the outer Marlborough Sounds, in early autumn.
These are often prolific in deeper waters and caught while Groper Fishing
HOT SHOTZ build the COD STOPPA on chemically Sharpened
6/0 Octopus Hooks with a longer shank to enable easier hook removal,
especially if the fish are returned to the water.
Not that you would send this beauty back for someone else to catch!

TESTIMONIAL FROM A CHAMPION!
Hi Guys
Sorry it has taken so long for me to contact you. Love your gear. Dive Spot Mana gave me the letter, hat and goodies you donated after winning the nationals. Thanks heaps. I wear the hat with pride. I love your gear especially the Pipi and Koheru.(see photo) I did actually catch the two trevally on your gear one on each of the above .................... I actually spent a lot of time changing rigs, baits and sinkers and when targetting most fish use your rigs which I get made by HotShotz with the 2 hooks for the NZACA regulations. I have fished the Koheru in BOP and outfished the others on the boat. Did give a couple of the rigs I had made and bought to other competitors in the nationals to try but fishing was really hard that weekend. Hope you got the photo from Richie with the HotShotz Tackle and sign. Like I say, love your products and use them for the club boat comps that I fish also.
Cheers and thanks again.
JO COOK, 2005 NZ NZACA National Surfcasting and Angling Champion. x x .

JO COOK SUCCESS
Jo Cook, 2005 National Surfcasting Champ, caught this nice, 4.91kg Snapper while using a HOT SHOTZ fly adapted to her own secret design bottom rig.

DARYL CRIMP
Crimpy resisted Rob's tempting offer of a HOTSHOTZ
4/0 Lil Shrimpy Neon but only for so long....
Seems it was just as well 'cause Crimpy was fishless until he changed rigs!
Nice 20 pounder from Pelorus Sounds aboard "Brave"

LYNDSEY BISHOP
Lyndsey caught this lovely 3.5lb Rainbow Trout
while fishing Lake Dunstan in Central Otago with Dick Marquand
of Lake Dunstan Fishing Safaris.

LOCAL BEACH
A nice view of Waitarere Beach,
just 10 minutes drive from our office.
A popular spot for surfcasting for Snapper, Shark, Cod etc.
The beach has several shellfish beds many fish feed on during incoming tides.
It is also very productive for Flounder netting
on the flat sandy reaches.

TASMAN SUNSET OVER KAPITI
An awesome sunset from Te Horo Beach, just 20 minutes drive from home.
This view is toward the outer Pelorus Sounds, with Kapiti Island in the left of the picture.
Te Horo is one of many popular local spots for surfcasting for Snapper, Shark, Cod, Gurnard etc.
The beaches along this coast all have various shellfish beds too.
These are very productive, after dark especially.
Kontiki longlining is also a popular activity here.

WAIMAK SALMON!
This fresh run Chinook Salmon of 8.6kg (19lb) was caught by Lyndsey Bishop of Christchurch back in February 1996.
This is one of four Salmon landed in 2 hours fishing with Allan Burgess, formerly of Southern Fishing and Boating Magazine.
Two limit bags weighing 17 and 21 for Allan, and 19 and 23lb for Lyndsey.

Zed spinners were used on graphite casting rods and freespool reel.
It is imperative that only Chemically Sharpened Treble hooks are used on Salmon lures for top results. HOT SHOTZ do a range of these and are very popular.

RAKAIA SALMON!
This nice Chinook Salmon of 8.3kg was caught by Keith Chin of Christchurch in March 2007.
This is one of many caught during the summer months
during the Salmon returns in Canterbury rivers.

Keith uses special weight forward spinners on a high power kevlar casting rod and freespool reel. This is to gain the extra distance required to penetrate the Salmon schooling off the Rakaia river mouth. This is a popular method attracting many anglers daily from November through April each year.
Often sizes vary depending on age of fish and available food source while at sea. These Salmon are very strong fighting and absolutely a delicacy, very nice!

HOT SHOTZSpecially imported, Chemically Sharpened Treble hooks are used on Keith's lures for top results.

ROTOAIRA TROUT!
This nice Rainbow was caught by Ben Bishop on his first visit to the Taupo region.
This is one of many caught during his Xmas holiday
with friends and family at nearby Lake Rotoaira.

Ben used spinners trolled behind a small boat, a popular method on the lakes.
Although smaller in size, these Rainbows are very feisty and rather delicate to eat, nice!

HOT SHOTZ Frogs and various metal spinners seemed most interesting to the trout.

CHAMPION
Winner of the 2003 Nelson Dawnbreakers versus Canterbury
Sportfishing Club 'Snapper' contest, last November. This
beauty was caught on a Hot Shotz Zinger.

BEN BISHOP
This was the first ever Salmon caught by Ben, a 7.25lb
fish taken on a Hot Shotz Furballz Yellow.

WYNTER EMERSON
This Snapper won a Junior competition for young Wynter.
He was using a Hot Shotz Red & Black Fly specially
tied for the competitors.

RUSSELL HOCKLEY
This Salmon was Russell's second ever and biggest yet!.
He was using a Hot Shotz supplied, Hustler Lure on a specially
designed weighted hook for casting.(made by Russell).
The Salmon was caught in local waters near Christchurch and weighed in at 12 and 1/2lb

SOUNDZ FISHING CHARTERS
This great John Dory was caught on Rob Clarke's boat "Brave".
The happy angler was using a Hot Shotz Pipi coloured Flasher Rig tied for Rob on 4/0 Senshi Hooks.
Senshi hooks are recurve designed for liphooking and self setting.

ANOTHER BRAVE CATCH
This Snapper came up for our Aussie visitor onboard "BRAVE"
again courtesy of Rob Clarke's Soundz Fishing Charters
He was using a Hot Shotz Pipi Flasher Rig on 4/0 hooks specially
tied for Rob's charter trips.

CHICKS CATCHEM TOO!
This Snapper put a huge smile on the dial.
Again caught on a Hot Shotz 4/0 Pipi rig.

AWESOME CATCH!
This little bewty swallowed a Hot Shotz Pipi Rig.
We have seen many caught on this new revised pattern!

NICE CATCH AT AKAROA!
This Double header caught by Alby on holiday Xmas 2004.
This huge pair was caught near Akaroa on a Hot Shotz 6/0 Pilly rig.

DOUBLE PUKA SUCCESS!
This Groper double header caught from 8m charter boat, Hydro Express.
This nice pair of schoolies was caught out of Akaroa on Hot Shotz 10/0 Zinger Flies.

PELORUS BEAUTY!
This awesome 22lber was caught by Chris Knowles
of La Veranda Restaurant.
This is one of pair of 22lbers Chris caught in the inner Pelorus Sound on a Hot Shotz Pipi rig.

KINGIE ON HOTSHOTZ!
The seemingly small 4/0 Hot Shotz Senshi Hook is very capable as seen with the look on this anglers face!
While fishing on Rob Clarke's boat "Brave" near Mussel rafts Kingies are often spotted, often hooked but mostly lost among the raft ropes. This one tried everything and earned a ride in the boat!
The weapon: 4/0 Neon Lil Shrimpy.

DOUBLE CARROTS!
When we say "Carrots" we really mean Gurnard, a delectable eating fish caught in the cooler months in estuaries and shallow harbours and inlets. Hot Shotz 4/0 again proved to be the essential connection landing these two beauties in the outer Pelorus Sounds aboard Rob Clarkes boat, "Brave".

GET HOOKED!
When we say "GET HOOKED" on Hot Shotz we
don't mean get hooked in this sense!
While assembling some HD rigs, Lyndsey found out all there was to know about Self-setting Senshi Hooks!
Minor surgery was essential to remove the bizarre body piercing.

WAIMAKARIRI BEAUTY!
This awesome 20lb'er was caught by Keith Chin of the
Ferrymead Tavern Restaurant, Christchurch.
This is one of over 25 Salmon caught at the Waimakariri
River mouth on the last day of Summer 2005.
The hook is the most crucial link between the angler and fish.
As Salmon are so highly sought after, the angler's choice
of a supreme quality hook is paramount.
Keith's choice of hook is a Hot Shotz #1 Treble Hook.
It obviously didn't let him down.

HALSTEADS BEAUTY!
This awesome School Groper was caught by
Malcolm Halstead of Christchurch.
This is one of many caught off Akaroa.
Malc found a discarded Flasher Rig on the boat, put it on and loaded up!
As Groper are so highly sought after, a supreme quality rig is paramount.
Malc's choice of rig was of course, a Hot Shotz Rig.
It obviously didn't let him down.

ANOTHER "BRAVE" BEAUTY!
This awesome Snapper is typical of early season delights in the Kenepuru Sound near Picton. It was caught by another happy customer of Rob Clarke's onboard Brave. Rob issues Hot Shotz Rigs to all his clients and gets results!
Rob can be booked direct by phoning his mobile at 021 1793700 or click the link on our links page.
